Subsequent  hits followed: Dawn, Walk Like a Man, Let's Hang On, Working My Way Back To You, and Can't Take My Eyes Off You. The Four Seasons were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990

Dick Dale and the Del-Tones

 


Dick Dale invented surf music in the 1950's and was soon given the title King of the Surf Guitar. He was the first to test and use the new Stratocaster guitar from Fender. He was also the first to jump concert volume from the standard 4 setting of the time, to 10. Though infamous in Southern California drawing large crowds for years, it wasn't until 1962 that Miserlou became a national hit. Dale greatly influenced not only the Beach Boys and the Chantays (Pipline) but Jimi Hendriks as well.
