The entire 1964 Ford line was named Motor Trend's Car of the Year for "the concept of Total Performance based on high performance testing in open competition." Though it was the Ford Galaxie that proved itself on the racetracks, winning more races in 1964 than any other manufacturer before. Also included were the Ford Flacon, Fairlane and Thunderbird
